Our Mission: 

The mission of Turn and Burn Lacrosse is to provide a place where players and coaches of all levels can come to enjoy, learn and improve in the game of lacrosse.  We will do this by offering leagues, clinics, coaching demonstrations, as well as individual and small group lessons.  Turn and Burn will teach players and coaches using the  most up-to-date techniques as well as relying on the proven effectiveness of  sound fundamentals. 

Lacrosse is a game that has a rich tradition involving sportsmanship and good character. In that regard, all Turn and Burn coaches will work diligently to exude and expect that these traditions are passed along to the future generations of lacrosse players.

 Turn & Burn Lacrosse!

Where it all started:

 

Turn and Burn was started in the summer of 2001 by Rob Horrigan. Horrigan, an NCAA Head Men's Lacrosse Coach for eight years, started two successful Men's College lacrosse programs.

Division III York College of Pennsylvania was Horrigan's first coaching stop. During his time at York College, Horrigan recruited over 60 Student-athletes including the Capital Athletic Conference "Rookie of the year."Most recently, Horrigan started Division II Belmont Abbey College. Where in the programs first year of existence he earned the 2006 Deep South Conference "Coach of the Year."

In those two seasons at Belmont Abbey, Horrigan recruited and coached 6 all-conference players as Turn & Burn Lacrosse!well as the 2007 Carolinas Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) "Freshman of the Year," and one of Inside Lacrosse magazine's "Pre-Season All-American Goalies."


Horrigan started his lacrosse career at St. Mary's high school in Annapolis Md. During Horrigan's high school career, St. Mary's was ranked #1 in the nation. Coach Horrigan finished his career as an attackman at Division 1 Towson University. Coach Horrigan was also a participant in the 1998 World Games.

Men's Staff:

Fred Bush

Fred Bush grew up in the upstate New York area, lettering four years at Jordan-Elbridge high school. In high school he was a three-sport athlete, starring in football basketball and lacrosse. He was a member of the 2007 Junior College National Champions and 2008 Junior College National Semi-finalist team at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY. After his time at Onondaga he transferred to Queens University of Charlotte, finishing his carrer as a Captain, helping to anchor the Queens' defense. He recently graduated, earning his Bachelor degree in Business Marketing this past May. 

Mike Delallo

Mike Delallo was also an upstate New York native. Born in Syracuse, NY, coach Delallo learned lacrosse and played in the notorious program at West Genesee High School. While playing at West Genesee, he recorded an 84% face off percentage his senior year! Coach Delallo lettered all four years at Queens University of Charlotte, finishing with an over-all face-off win percentage of 61%. He earned All-Conference honors in 2009, as well as All-Tournament Team, and Coaches Award.

Corey Geroy

Corey started playing lacrosse in Middle School in Horseheads, New York. By 7th and 8th grade, he was already playing up at the J.V. level. He went on to letter all four years at Horseheads High School, leading the team as a Captain his Junior and Senior year. While there, he also earned First Team All-League Honors. Currently entering his senior year at Queens University of Charlotte, he has started all three previous seasons. He has been named Intercon student-athlete of the month, First Team All-Conference, and Pre-Season All-American. He is pursuing his B.A. in psychology.
 

Joel Heimbigner

Joel Heimbigner began his lacrosse career as a freshmen at Poway H.S in San Diego, California. There he played 4 years on varsity, starting his last three years as goalie.  His Junior year, the Poway Titans won the inaugural California Championship and Joel was honored with San Diego County Goalie of the Year. From there, Joel was recruited to play at Queens University of Charlotte.  At Queens, Joel was a captain, Defensive MVP twice, and a NCAA honor roll athlete.  During his Queens campaign, the team went from thin air to being a top ten national ranked team, as well as ending Limestone's winning streak. After graduation in May 07, Joel began coaching the Providence Panthers Middle School Club team and Providence High J.V. team.  Joel has a total of 8 years playing experience from High School and NCAA Division II lacrosse with 1 year coaching experience.

Rob founded Turn and Burn Lacrosse in 2001 in Pennsylvania. After his move to Charlotte, he saw the need for rec-level lacrosse development in the greater Charlotte area. He started running spring rec leagues and seasonal developmental leagues in 2007. 
 

Brandon MacKnew

Brandon is from Bel Air, Maryland, where he attended Bel Air High School.  At Bel Air, Brandon was a four-year starter on the Varsity squad, and was a 3 time First-Team All-County member, and a U.S. Lacrosse High School All-American his senior year.  He played in the U.S. Lacrosse All-American game.  He attended Queens University of Charlotte, where he was a four year letter winner in between the pipes for the Royals.  While at Queens they were ranked in the top ten in Division II two f his four years.  He also received several accolades which include; two-time All Conference selection, three time Conference Carolinas Player of the Week, Pre-Season All-American, Team Defensive MVP.  During his junior campaign he was ranked third in the nation in save percentage in Division II with a 0.568 save percentage.  After finishing at Queens Brandon got involved with Turn and Burn's U-11 King's.  Brandon has 15 years of combined playing and coaching experience.  

Brandon became Turn and Burn's Director of Operations in 2009.  Brandon is involved in our marketing/advertising, seasonal league coordination, travel team management, and daily business operations at Turn and Burn.


Women's Staff:

Kerri Gut

Kerri Gut has been named Coach of the Girls Lacrosse Program. Kerri’s responsibilities will include developing and coaching the girl’s programs, including Summer Chill and Fall Ball. Additionally, she will be available for private coaching sessions.  Before joining Turn and Burn Lacrosse, Kerri played lacrosse for Belmont Abbey College. She was one of the team’s inaugural members and helped bring the team to the Conference Carolinas Championships four years in a row.  Additionally, Keri’s team was ranked in the Top 10 in its fourth season by Inside Lacrosse. “I met Kerri while I was a coach at Belmont Abbey and know she will be a great asset to our organization,” said Rob Horrigan, Turn and Burn Lacrosse Director. “Her experience and love of lacrosse will elevate our girls program.” A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Kerri has more than 10 years of lacrosse experience.
